Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach
Sherryl Chandley-Brown specializes in assisting post-menopausal women, particularly those with a family history of Alzheimer's, to regain their mental clarity, enjoy stress-free eating, and achieve restful sleep. With a diverse background that includes roles as a licensed medical technologist, medical software developer, licensed massage therapist, and EMT, her enduring passion has always been nutrition and its role in preventing chronic illnesses. This led her to embark on a journey to become a nutrition health coach, dedicating herself to help others achieve a healthy lifestyle. She resides in the picturesque town of Sequim, WA.
For a long time, I believed my fate was predetermined, convinced that dementia was the unavoidable conclusion to my life story. With both parents and my grandmother suffering from dementia, along with many relatives who succumbed to Alzheimer’s complications, I felt trapped in a grim narrative.
By my mid-50s, I was already experiencing troubling symptoms—struggling to find words, forgetting names, and losing track of conversations. Part of me thought this could be related to going through menopause, so I tried hormonal therapy and played “brain games” religiously. But it didn’t make any difference. This reality terrified me, and during a session with my massage therapist, I broke down, lamenting what my 80s would look like if my 60s were already so challenging.
Thankfully, around that time, I embarked on a journey into nutrition and health coaching, discovering how sleep, stress management, physical activity, and gut health significantly impact brain function. Armed with this knowledge, I made lifestyle changes that not only halted the decline but also began to reverse some of the damage. I was sleeping better, my stress level went down, my digestion improved significantly, and I was feeling good about myself and my future. To my delight, I found myself speaking more fluently and even scored “better than expected” on a memory test.

I never felt judged for my unhealthy habits or for falling short of the goals I set. Instead, Sherryl consistently encouraged me. I’ve become more mindful of my choices. I look for ways to stay accountable.
Sherryl would often respond with, 'What I’m hearing is...' which helped clarify the core need and simplify how to get there.
I’ve gained more confidence in my physical health and appearance and have been more aware of what I’m putting into my body and how I make conscious movements for stretching and exercise. It’s helped me gain motivation to upkeep good habits and stop my bad ones. Mentally, I’ve been seeing an upward trend which has been amazing after such a long time of having severe downs and limited highs.
